Fidel Castro Visits Food Research Center in Havana
Havana – The leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro visited the Food Industry Research Institute in the town of Guatao, where he exchanged experiences with 19 cheese masters who are trained in the facility.
Granma newspaper reports today that the meeting -held on Friday afternoon for more than four hours- was tempered by the arguments of Fidel Castro about the problems that affect the nutrition status of the world’s population, such as climate change and frequent wars.
They also discussed in depth issues related to the production levels and the quality achieved in the national cheese production in earlier times to the Special Period (economic crisis that began in the early 1990s) and the need for its recovery.
Experienced participants who were trained in those years and still keep their jobs, explained Fidel Castro the actions they take to reach those production levels gradually with the required quality, which is essential to continue the preparation of cheese masters.
Maria del Carmen Concepcion Gonzalez, Minister of Food Industry; members of the Board of Directors of its Corporate Group; members of the Board of Directors of the Food Research Institute and its teachers also attended the meeting.
