San Antonio de los Baños, Artemisa, Cuba – In order to raise the people´s life quality the Public Health Sector takes various actions.

The head of the program of noncommunicable chronic diseases in this town, Norberto Beltrán Morales said the leading cause of death in young people in the municipality is cancer caused by smoking. That is why drive impact on this problem.

Among the developed activities are educational talks in clinics and communities which highlight the negative consequences of consumption of cigars.

He added that a consultation smoking works with a multidisciplinary team for people willing to quit. Norberto Beltrán also commented on the high level of alcohol consumption in the town, so work in the doctors’ offices with health equipment and alcoholism consulting.
