Ready to defend the country

Artemisa, Cuba – As a proof of the many expressions of the conception of War of all people, the province encourages its preparatory action, by joining the Bastion – 2016 Strategic Exercise.

After the speech of the president of the National Defense Council, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, different working groups that make up the Provincial Defense Council (CDP) – which was activated on Wednesday morning – reported on the operational situation of the territory and presented their proposals for the accomplishment of the tactical task.

José Antonio Valeriano Fariñas, president of the CDP, emphasized peacetime missions, as well as the plans for the exercise development and the measures of combative disposition for the defense.

Later , practical activities included, among them, surveillance´s reinforcement , in order to avoid social indiscipline and public order´s disturbances.

In that sense, actions of patrolling and custody in important economic objectives took place, as a further way of ensuring citizens ‘?peacefulness.
