Took place in Candelaria the event Gerontovida 2016

Artemisa, Cuba – In the house of grandparents of the municipality of Candelaria took place the regional provincial event Gerontovida 2016 sponsored by the University of Artemis and the Cuban Workers Organization (CTC).

Amelia Pedroso Iglesia, coordinator of University Extension of the Municipal Center of this territory, explained that was chosen the November 17 to carry out the activity in order to make it coincide with the student’s day because in this place works a chair of elderly persons. The main objective of the event Amelia pointed out was to contribute improving the quality of life of the people of that age.

Soraya Quesada Mederos from the University of Artemisa added that 14 works of high quality were presented, all aimed at the same purpose. She explained that two commissions were in session during the event; the jury selected as relevant the works of the authors: Nadina Errasti Bastarrica, Idanaisi Ramón Ávila, Edisbel Quiñones Martínez and Belkis Amelia Martínez and Dr. Dean Piloto. It was also granted the condition of distinguished and mentions to other papers.
