Raúl receives Prime Minister Papua New Guinea
Army Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, received the honorable Peter Charles Paire O’Neill, Prime Minister of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, who is making an official visit to the country.
The two leaders reaffirmed the positive state of bilateral relations in a cordial environment, and discussed the potential for developing cooperation, particularly in the area of healthcare and sports. They also discussed issues on the international agenda, such as the effects of climate change.
Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Frank Mohi Aisi, political undersecretary of the Prime Minister’s office and the National Executive Council; Ambassador Max Rai, permanent representative to the United Nations; Pascoe Kase, National Heath Department secretary; and William Dihn, Foreign Affairs secretary.
Participating on the Cuban side were Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, minister of Foreign Trade and Investment; Marcelino Medina González, interim minister of Foreign relations; as well as Marcia Cobas Ruiz and Rogelio Sierra Díaz, deputy ministers of Public Health and Foreign Relations, respectively.
