Raúl receives President of Honduras

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday November 24, received the honorable Juan Orlando Hernández Alvarado, President of the Republic of Honduras, who is making an official visit to the country.

During the cordial meeting, the two leaders discussed the current state of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their intention to continue strengthening ties in the political, economic, commercial and cooperative arenas, while addressing issues on the international agenda, as well.

The distinguished guest was accompanied by María Dolores Agüero Lara, secretary of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation; Arnaldo Castillo, secretary of Economic Development; Edna Yolani Batres, state secretary for Health; Emilio Silvestri, state secretary for Tourism, and other members of the delegation.

Participating on the Cuban side were Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz and Manuel Marrero Cruz, ministers of Foreign Trade and Investment, and Tourism, respectively; as well as Marcelino Medina González, interim minister of Foreign Relatons; Marcia Cobas Ruiz, deputy minister of Public Health; and Carlos R. Zamora Rodríguez, acting director for Latin America at the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
