Modern Vessel to Operate in Mariel Harbor
A modern Vessel, which comes from Europe and will be operated by the Cuban Prácticos de Puerto (Pilots of the Harbor, literally) enterprise, is already in the local Zona Especial de Desarrollo (Special Zone for Development, literally) in Mariel harbor.
That launch is featured by its design which has a deck and the necessary navigation and communication equipment to guarantee the safety of the pilot and its crew at the moment of boarding the ship.
Gabriel Cruz Laffite, who is the deputy director of the local Practicos del Puerto (Pilots of the Harbor, literally) from the Cuban Republic, stated in a conference that the arrival of that vessel to Mariel harbor is a technological innovation for both the enterprise and Cuba. That naval mean of transportation has a total of 14.40 meters in length which allows transporting ships through Panama.
That vessel was taken to Mariel harbor and comes with all the necessary navigation equipments. This is a maritime mean of transportation that can assure many of the future projections and its work in the trade sector of that nation´s strategic place.
The best feature of that vessel is precisely that it will guarantee the man´s safety in the sea and the cargo. Moreover, the pilot may carry out its maneuver under any wind condition.
At present, the main limitation of the related vessels is precisely that they are limited while facing intense breezes; however, this new one can operate under any situation.
This is the first ultramodern vessel with special features for the related service of a mega-project like the one from the local Mariel harbor. This vessel is able to operate under the harbor´s standards. It establishes a built-in bridge system and all the elements of its design and construction provides safety to the pilot to carry out a proper maneuver.
These vessel´s characteristics were regulated by the Cuban Ships Registration. Moreover, it was designed to operate with ships of 364 meters in length through Panama. These ships have to be received at a longer distance from the mouth of the harbor under adverse weather conditions, so a higher maneuver is required.
That vessel´s test process and the final stage has the participation of its crew which will operate that modern vessel. The experiences and knowledge by the officials of the aforementioned enterprise were taken into account.
