Much is said about the need to protect the environment and the importance of eating healthy foods. To this end, associations such as the Agricultural and Forestry Technicians (ACTAF), which contributes to the conservation of soils, through studies that eliminate the causes of land abuse.

This association bases its work on raising the awareness of producers about the importance of good practices in agriculture. Many Ariguanabenses have opted for agroecology, for the benefits it offers to soils and crops, as it helps to recover the fertility of the land and to protect the environment in a sustainable and balanced way.

Through the movement of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture, this theme is strengthened in San Antonio de los Baños, a municipality with excellent results in each tour of the National Group of this sector. Farms and orchards, semi-protected areas, intensive orchards and family patios are some of the ways to deliver fresh fruits, condiments, medicinal plants and various crops to different points of sale and social consumption of the territory. But in many of these areas the fertilization and fertilizers used are based on organic matter, for example, worm humus and vegetable compost, which provide nutrients to the plantations without causing damage to the land. All this leads to the subsequent marketing of healthier and toxic-free food … which the population thanks.

These good practices should be extended to all producers in order to avoid the use of chemicals as far as possible. Continuing to strengthen this activity and increase the learning for those who do not yet know the benefits of agroecology, should be a priority for this territory, taking into account the multiple benefits to families, health and quality of food that are marketed.
