Present women in activities of the agricultural sector

Strengthening women’s role in the agricultural sector is one of the strategic purposes of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in San Antonio de los Baños.

The Association receives more than 220 women among the 10 productive forms of food production, directly in the groove or as engineers, technicians and researchers. Also included are those who hold positions in base organizations, with a representation of more than 40 percent.

The participation of women in all manifestations of agriculture is the contribution to food security, the generation of economic income through the production of grains, vegetables, legumes; in addition to the raising of animals, as well as commercialization, responsibilities shared with man.

On the other hand, the participation of peasant women in the FMC- ANAP Brigades, Federation of Cuban Women (FMC)-National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), promotes gender workshops, culinary art meetings, courses of floral adornments, as well as promoting the work strategy, achieving the incorporation of non-associated women and increasing their presence in management positions.
