The ultrasound medical service provides benefits to health

The Municipal Health Department in San Antonio de los Baños provides multiple services, including ultrasounds, taking into account their benefits. Ultrasound services, such as diagnosis and physiotherapeutic treatment, are integrated into medical procedures, according Ernesto Polanco, Technical Head of the Integral Rehabilitation Room of Polyclinic No. 1 José Hipólito Pazos.

He outlines that ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnosis used to evaluate real-time structures of soft tissue, including muscles, organs and blood vessels. This service is provided to Ariguanabo’s hospital and polyclinics. Ernesto Polanco points out that this physiotherapy is integrated with the aim of contributing to the patient’s  recovery and to his incorporation into the useful life of the society.

The ultrasound is beneficial in the treatment of different conditions, including trauma, lithiasis, hemostasis and thrombolism. It is also used in the treatment of muscles and joints as its use has analgesic, regeneration and anti-inflammatory effects. The specialist emphasizes that ultrasound treatment can accelerate patients’ recovery.
