CITMATEL Announces Proposals for the Cuban Book Fair

Havana – The Cuban company for Information Technologies and Telematic Services (Citmatel) announced today some of the proposals reserved for the 26th Havana Book Fair, from February 9 to 19, with exhibitors from 35 countries.

Interactive games for mobile phones, tablets and computers, are some of the options that the entity will offer on Saturday 11 in the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, main site of the event.

With this entertainment, children and young people will be able to enter the world of science, in a friendly, easy and instructive way, a statement from the entity explains.

In addition, it advanced among the literary novelties, the book Las Mediosiglo, which addresses the issue of women of this age in the context of contemporary society, as well as the changes and challenges in this stage of life.

Its author, Sonia Negrín, shows her own experiences and those of her friends and acquaintances with their respective emotions related to her 50 years. Other proposals include the book Frutas tropicales en la cocina cubana, where its author, Dr. Alberto Quirantes, enters the world of culinary art.

According to Citmatel, the topic is of great interest to endocrinology specialists who promote its consumption especially for those suffering from diseases such as obesity and diabetes mellitus.

Created in 1999, Citmatel is distinguished by its wide range of high value products and services, as well as by the introduction and permanent application of new technologies.

Cuba’s largest literary exchange, which will host Canada as a guest country of honor, plans to sell around four million copies of books, according to organizers.
