Irish President to Travel to Colombia to Support Peace Process
Bogota- Irish President Michael Daniel Higgins is arriving today in Colombia to support the peace process, know about the immediate tasks of the post-conflict period and strengthen the cooperation relations, the Government confirmed today.
According to the republic’s Presidency, the Irish head of State will give a lecture on Monday at the National University and talk with the European delegation members and the head of the UN Verification Mission that will oversee the bilateral ceasefire, Jean Arnault.
Today, Higgings will be officially welcomed by Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos at the Government Palace, where he will be paid military honors, prior to the signing of several agreements.
