Venezuelan Foreign Minister Rejects USA Attacks
Caracas – Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez has rejected new attacks against her country from the United States government, according to her Twitter account.
As President Nicolás Maduro calls for a new era of respectful relations with Washington, his counterpart Donald Trump sympathizes with the head of violent actions.
Yesterday, the US president held a meeting with Lilian Tintori, Leopoldo López’s wife, and later demanded the ‘release’ of the person responsible for the coup plan La Salida, which caused human losses among Venezuelans, the minister said.
This action comes at a time when President Maduro called on his US counterpart to establish a climate of peace and good relations between both peoples and governments.
‘Venezuela wants relations of respect in terms of equality,’ said the governor in this capital during an act of the Great Socialist Justice Mission.
The Foreign Minister condemned in twitter ?”president Trump’s meddling and aggression, who tries to give orders in our Country’.
Despite the olive branch offered by Caracas, Washington remains focused on defending and promoting the actions of right-wing sectors that undermine the stability of the country, he said.
‘Donald Trump supports the head of bloody and unconstitutional actions that occurred in 2014 against the peace and stability of Venezuela,’ Rodriguez said in an apparent reference to Leopoldo López, who is serving a 13-year prison sentence for being found guilty of public incitement, property damage, arson, and conspiracy crimes.
López was the axis of the actions of violence unleashed in 2014 with the activation of the coup plan La Salida, which left a balance of 43 people killed, more than 800 injured and unquantifiable material damages, such as the burning health centers, universities and educational institutions, public transportation units and food distribution centers.
