Cuban Vice-President Meets UAE Minister of Economy

Havana – Cuban Council of Ministers’ Vice President, Ricardo Cabrisas, met with the Economy Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, who is visiting the country with a large business delegation.

An official report on Tuesday said that during the meeting, they discussed the economic, commercial and financial relationships between the two countries and agreed that there are many conditions to increase those ties.

Cabrisas, who is also the minister of Economy and Planning on the island showed his satisfaction with the meeting that took place in an atmosphere of respect and cordiality.

Cabrisas gave an overview on the current economic situation of the country and the prospects for development, and stressed that the UAE can participate as investors in areas and modalities established by Cuba.

Bin Saeed Al Mansouri agreed on the existing potential of development on the island, and expressed the interest of his country’s businessmen, especially in the hotel and tourist sectors in general.

UAE ambassador to Cuba, Badr Almatrooshi, and other officials of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also attended the meeting.

The acting Cuban Director of the North Africa and Middle East department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rafael Jimeno Lopez, was also present.
