Spanish Cyclist Contador Gives Up San Sebastian Classic

 Madrid- The Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador announced Wednesday that he will be absent from the San Sebastian Classic, to be run on Saturday August 1st in the homonymous Spanish city.
Contador, ranked fifth in the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, made his layoff official through his account on the social network Twitter, where he said he had an illness.

Even three days after he continued the Tour with fever, speaking with the team about his regret.

Also Spanish Alejandro Valverde and Purito Rodriguez, winner and third in the event last year, will be in the 2015 edition of San Sebastian, together to Belgian recovered Philippe Gilbert, winner in Namur in the third stage of the Tour of Wallonia.

Valverde (Movistar), who comes from doing a fantastic third place on the podium in Paris, will be the favorite to win again, accompanied by his fellow Colombian Nairo Quintana, second in the Tour, and the Iberian Beñat Intxausti.
