Joan Cabo Mijares, president of the Artemisa Municipal Defense Council, does not hide his pride in participating as a delegate to the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
“It is at the same time an extraordinary challenge to represent a people devoted to the fight for life, in a very difficult year due to COVID-19impact and the rigors of the United States blockade.
"Our delegation, made up of doctors, workers, farmers ..., constitutes a convincing example of the premise that this is the congress of historical continuity, since we will accompany the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, protagonist of all the libertarian deeds and Illustrious Son of Artemisa.
"Since I took the responsibility in 2020, the municipal defense councils have been activated, which has required greater discipline, effort and personal growth, which has allowed us to prepare to assume the complex epidemiological scenario of the capital city, in this stage of pandemic".
